Department of Pathology

Department is headed by Prof Dhananjay Kotasthane, who has 24 years teaching experience. His areas of interest are Histopathology, Cytology and Medical Education Technology. He was a postgraduate guide in Pune University, Maharashtra University of health Sciences and Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry. He was also a guide for interdisciplinary Ph d projects. He has several publications in national and international publications to his credit and he has been a postgraduate examiner in several universities across India.

The Dept is also blessed with Prof Usha as one of the faculty members, who has joined this institute after superannuation from IMS,BHU, where she has worked as Prof and HOD. Her area of interest is Immunopathology. She was a guide for many MD(pathology) and Ph D scholars. She was a part of several research projects .She has several publications in national and international publications to his credit and he has been a postgraduate examiner in several universities across India.

The dept also has associate professors and assistant professors as per MCI norms.The teachers are qualified from reputed institutes across India. Faculties participate in National and International conferences and present research papers. Faculties have worked as a guide for IMCR STS projects.

Dept offers services in Histopathology, cytology, Hematology, Clinical pathology and Transfusion Medicine

Department  is fully equipped with state-of-art equipments to handle these services. Dept is keen of maintaining turnaround time of the reports. To ensure quality, the dept also participates in the EQAS programs of AIIMS, New Delhi and CMC Vellore.

Department  has students lab well equipped with microscopes, Histopathology slides, specimens, charts and models for teaching and also a Museum with more than 350 specimens with the catalogues of specimens. The dept has a research lab to enable faculties and students to carry out research. The departmental library has recent editions of all important UG and PG books.

Department is looking forward to welcome and train the 1st batch of PG students.    Â
